He still loves what he does 32 years into his career, and it shows by the praise he receives not only from the residents but American House leadership as well. “I just like keeping the residents and their families happy by making sure they’re eating good and having a good time,” Eric said.

Ellen Leighliter is as passionate about her work at as she was the day she started at American House Jenison in 2010. “I love how there’s always something new going on. Family Night has a different theme every month. The whole team gets excited to give the best party we can for our residents and their families. When the residents are smiling and having a great time, it makes all the hard work worth it. It gives me goosebumps.”

Rachel Nagel is often singled out at American House Jenison as someone who exemplifies excellence and is even known to get behind the wheel of the community bus when a driver is needed. “I just really enjoy my job. I have one of the best jobs on campus. I spend a lot of time with the residents and get to know them very well. I enjoy hearing their stories and providing events and activities for them. I want to bring joy and purpose to their lives.”
