Chantal Cornfield awarded Crain's 40 Under 40

American House Senior Living Communities is honored to announce, Chantal Cornfield, Regional Director of Operations, has been named to Crain’s Detroit Business 40 Under 40 for 2023. Along with the rest of the class, Chantal was nominated by colleagues or peers and selected through a rigorous review process by Crain’s Detroit Business editors and reporters.

Spending time with seniors is something Chantal always found rewarding. From a young age, she appreciated their wisdom and comfort and the legacies they spent their lives creating. When she took a job in sales, it was no surprise it was in a senior living community. As a sales director, she felt she’d found her dream job, connecting families and their loved ones to a place they could call home.

Chantal quickly excelled at bringing residents into the community, but soon realized it was through operations that she could make the most impact. Her career path was set. “Serving seniors has always been the number one goal, and I now have the ability to change residents’ and team members’ lives on a larger scale.” For Chantal, building a strong community means first investing the time to build a strong culture. Her success has been grounded in these principles: “Care about your people and they will care about your cause.”

“Being honored with the recognition of Crain’s 40 Under 40 is something I dreamed of achieving while still in college,” said Chantal. She is quick to admit it was never about the award, but the teams she worked with to strengthen their communities. “This award is a reflection of my teams’ dedication to each other, but most importantly, their service to our seniors.” Chantal is proud of her teams who, through challenging times, never seem to give up and who continuously achieve incredible things. “These incredible team members always find a way to elevate themselves, our residents’ experiences and our company to the next level,” she said. “I could not be prouder, but there is still work to be done!”
